Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for clinical assessment, therapy, and consultation in a pediatric practice setting or other CHKD affiliated practice. In addition this candidate must be proficient in integrating data from various sources, including testing, to evaluate emotional functioning, personality, and ability in children.  Reports to Mental Health Therapy Manager.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assimilates psychological test data and generates a thorough written evaluation which includes findings and recommendations.
    • Conducts evidence-based therapy with children and caregivers.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.   
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Board of Psychology.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, either Psy.D or Ph.D from an APA accredited program, as well as completion of an accredited internship.
    • Experience in psychological evaluations and psychotherapy of children, adolescents, and adults. 
    • Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
    • Execution of Non-Competition, Confidentiality and Non Solicitation Agreement required for specialty position assigned/hired into.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
