Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for conducting mental health assessments with children and adolescents to determine mental health diagnosis and risk for harm to self or others. Reports to the Mental Health Therapy Manager.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Provides a comprehensive evaluation of bio-psychosocial problems resulting from acute or chronic illness, trauma, or disability, as well as the primary support group, educational system, social environment, legal system, and other psychosocial and environmental problems. 
    • Facilitates admission to inpatient psychiatric facilities as well as referrals to outpatient behavioral health services. 
    • Provides on-going counseling services to the patient and/or family to include individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions. 
    • Ensures comprehensive assessment and recommended treatment plan are submitted for reimbursement to third party payer sources based on established guidelines. 
    • Provides assessment, counseling, and resource services as necessary.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • Current Virginia license as a License Clinical Social Worker (LSCW). 
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work.
    • Approximately two to three years of post LCSW related work experience preferred.
    • Experience with implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families required.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary.
    • Ability to work as a multidisciplinary team member.   
    • May function in an on-call capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
    • Travel to offsite locations may be required.
    • Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
