Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Education Specialist – Clinical Practice functions in an advanced clinical role to assess, design, develop, coordinate, provide, implement and evaluate organizational and department educational initiatives based on educational needs. Functions in a variety of clinical and non-clinical educational and instructional roles for designated service areas. A high level of independence in performance of the role and problem-solving is expected. Reports to the department manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and maintains clinical policies.

Coordinates school affiliation agreements.
-
Coordinates, implements, and maintains employee orientation processes.
-
Participates in regulatory readiness processes to promote and maintain accreditation status.

Develops and administers training programs utilizing adult learning principles and the educational process.

Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
-
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
-
3 - 5 years related work experience required.

Pediatric experience preferred.

Technical and professional knowledge and skills required.

Basic understanding and ability to utilize software programs (Microsoft Office, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, etc.)

Ability to demonstrate a professional level of cooperation and collaboration for successful function
-
BLS required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

PEARS Instructor status required and/or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
-
Ability to travel to other CHKDHS locations.
-
Ability to work occasional evening and weekends on a planned schedule.

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
