Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The Real Estate Director reports to a member of senior leadership and is responsible for providing strategic asset management and comprehensive real estate services in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans and goals.  The Real Estate Director is expected to independently carry out assigned responsibilities but seeks guidance from upper management given unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation of policy/practice or allocation of funds to resolve. 

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Provides real estate management oversight for both owned and leased properties including acquisitions, lease administration, general management and transaction development / coordination to ensure the highest quality service delivery. 
    • Maintains real estate roadmap to proactively manage all lease and real estate actions.
    • Engages real estate service providers in the development of potential real estate solutions including feasibility assessment, analyzing results, developing location planning options, and providing recommendations to senior management.
    • Maintains 24-hour responsibility for the daily planning, work scheduling and coordination, and operational performance of commercial real estate for the health system. 
    • Independently carries out and is accountable for daily operations and other activities as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • None required.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate or related field preferred. 
    • Five years of real estate management experience required.
    • Three years of real estate portfolio management in the healthcare industry preferred. 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills including report development and presentations to senior leadership. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint. 
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills necessary. 
    • Proven track record in negotiating and administering real estate and contracts required. 
    • Must be able to plan, supervise and establish a professional working environment within areas of responsibility. 
    • Besides managerial activities, must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues. 
    • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct and assign work to subordinates, explain hospital and department policies and procedures and communicate effectively with other professionals.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
