Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional first line customer support on information systems throughout the health system.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to, responding to calls and inquiries received into the information services help desk, timely processing of security requests, accurately assisting in data audits as well as providing assistance with application support functions. Work includes ongoing monitoring of information systems functions.  Reports to department leadership. 
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responds to calls and inquiries received into the IS help desk.
    • Works with the appropriate IS teams to assist in identifying and correcting end-user issues.
    • Documents information systems issues and escalate issues as needed.
    • Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • None
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related discipline or equivalent education and work experience, required.  
    • Demonstrates excellent typing skills required.  
    • Must demonstrate basic understanding of PC hardware / software and printing functions. 
    • General knowledge of broadband and network connectivity and electronic health records a plus.
    • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, communication, team work and organizational skills necessary. 
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room.
