GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The IS Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating information technology projects throughout the health system using the accepted project management methodology. Reports to the department leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Works collaboratively with department management or representatives and vendors to ensure that projects meet business needs and are aligned with goals and objectives.

Effectively and accurately plans, organizes, coordinates, and documents the system development processes for assigned projects.
-
Ensures the timely communication of project status and identifies application, process and quality improvement opportunities.
-
Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures.
-
Provides effective and timely communication of project information to pertinent staff across the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.

Previous healthcare information systems project management experience preferred.
-
Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and presentation skills required.
-
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills necessary.
-
Must be highly self motivated and flexible while able to accept direction with the completion of tasks.

Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks as well as the ability to meet deadlines required.

Strong project management skills necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with exception of visits to the computer room.
