GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Supervisor functions in an advanced clinical role for the supervision, planning and provision of sports medicine therapy programs or services. Reports to the Sports Medicine Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Assists with the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, marketing and program development.

Assists in the management and evaluation of sports medicine therapy services personnel.

Develops, documents, and evaluates competence of clinical and non-clinical rehabilitation and therapy personnel.

Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communication.

Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
Current State License as a Physical Therapist.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
At least one year of sports medicine experience.
-
Advanced knowledge of pediatric sports medicine and orthopedic physical therapy treatments and modalities.
-
Possesses leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to plan, supervise, establish and maintain a professional work environment.

Interpersonal skills necessary to direct subordinates and delegate tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
