GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Cloud Services Developer will work in cooperation with all areas of Information Services to deliver a stable and scalable cloud delivery solution. The position serves as development professional for cloud services technologies and infrastructure, and supports small scale projects impacting enterprise applications, connectivity, database, and network components. Reports to departmental leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develops the cloud service delivery and adoption framework to enable platform/information/software/data as service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DaaS).
- Implements automation for cloud resources using best practices.
- Defines and enforces cloud governance policies, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network segmentation
- Assists with development and implementation of cloud-applications, migrating existing on-premises applications and/or databases to the cloud, managing policies for the use of cloud services, requests for new technology, ensuring appropriate availability/uptime design.
- Works independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner preferred.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified cloud solutions architect or equivalent preferred.

AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate or equivalent preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
-
At least 2 years’ experience in cloud computing, virtualization, network or database management, application and database design and implementation with application centric workflows and data ingestion.
-
At least 2 years’ experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, and infrastructure as code tools including Cloud Formation and Terraform.

At least 2 years’ experience with multi-site network design, windows server environments, and cloud identity services.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
Proficient in cloud services technology and platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure
-
Proficient in cloud resources such as EC2, S3, Cloud Formation, Load balancing, AWS Systems Manager
-
Knowledgeable in data analytic platforms and data ingestion including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data factory.

WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with exception of visits to the computer room.
