Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • Under the direction of the Director of Contract Development, the Managed Care Specialist provides research in response to questions and program development initiatives associated with payer contracts, facilitates payer-related meetings with internal and external constituents, and administers and provides oversight of payer enrollment activities and processes. Reports to the Director of Contract Development.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Coordinates and monitors payer enrollment activities.
    • Conducts research, prepares analysis, and makes recommendations to management related to managed care initiatives.
    • Communicates, monitors, and follows-up of payer-related issues with payer representatives for resolution.
    • Conducts and facilitates follow-up activities with payer-related meetings, including the Payer Manual Review Committee and Payer Joint Operating Committee meetings.
    • Reviews and prepares single case payer agreements.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • None required.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 
    • 1-3 years of experience in managed care contracting required.
    • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines with accuracy.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
