Courier PRN

General Summry: Reports to department leadership.  Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate delivery and pick up of mail, laboratory specimens, diagnostic reports, radiology films, supplies and other items as directed.  Complies with policies and procedures for the safe and appropriate handling of all items.  Maintains confidentiality of items being handled.  The courier is responsible for the general care and maintenance of vehicles.  Provides professional and courteous service while carrying out duties.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Must be high school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous courier experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently.  Must possess a valid DMV License with no vehicular convictions and have a general knowledge of the Hampton Roads Area.  Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle. Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.
