Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The ATC Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating and directing the work flow and functions of designated service personnel to facilitate safe and efficient work flow and practices. Reports to the designated manager.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assists in the selection, training, orientation and competency validation of designated personnel.
    • Supervises, plans, develops and organizes services and activities to support medical practices.
    • Works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the physician(s), PA(s), and NP(s).
    • Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. 
    • Demonstrates excellence in athletic training practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • Current NATA certification and current Virginia State license as an Athletic Trainer.
    • CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. 
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Professional knowledge of athletic training theory and practice.
    • Technical and professional knowledge and skills for clinical operations of the service area, usually acquired through 3 - 5 years’ progressive Clinical/Supervisory experience in a practice setting.
    • Pediatric experience preferred.  
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • A clinical patient care environment with minimal exposure to hazards such as excess noise, dust, or extremes in temperature. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, body fluids and other conditions common to the healthcare environment. Moderate adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities.
