GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Audio Visual/ IS Specialist is responsible for assisting with the installing, configuring, operating and maintaining of audio/ visual systems and services for CHKDHS organization at locations. This involves the transport, assemble, maintenance and repairs of hospital televisions, video, education/entertainment and video conferencing systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, setup and enhancement of the hospital television system as well as the audiovisual presentation equipment and computer hardware.

Demonstrates computer skills to properly utilize audiovisual and television system equipment.

Effectively operates and maintains organization’s video system.

Works collaboratively across the health systems in addressing the audio visual needs of the organization.

Assists in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving audio visual equipment and connectivity issues.

Maintains a thorough inventory of audio visual equipment and supplies.
-
Provides excellent customer service, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Serves as a resource to staff on audio visual systems through punctuality, creativity and excellent trouble-shooting skills.

Prioritizes work request from both internal and external customers in a courteous and timely manner.

Follows all organization and department specific policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
A+ certification preferred.
-
Certified Technology Specialists (CTS) certification a plus.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience required.
-
Three years or more of direct work experience within the audio visual field required.

Demonstrated experience with the installation of audiovisual equipment.
-
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot audiovisual hardware and software issues.
-
Must possess a strong audiovisual and computer hardware aptitude and be able to solve complex issues independently.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with team members, various levels of management, and internal and external customers required.

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle. Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room. Considerable standing and/or walking. Occasional changes to work schedule are experienced on either side of the normal 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. timeframe.
