Respiratory Care Practitioner (Sign-On Bonus Eligible)

General Summary: Under the general direction of the Respiratory Care Clinical Care Leaders/Manager, provides a variety of specialized and routine clinical therapies to the neonatal and pediatric population. Care provided includes developmental, psychosocial and clinical treatment utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and a multidisciplinary process.  Works to enhance a multidisciplinary approach to patient care through daily participation in unit based rounds with multidisciplinary team.  Actively engages in process improvement activities to enhance the department / unit function. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum:  Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care.  NPS certification preferred.  Must have interpersonal skills to communicate detailed clinical observations and evaluations with other members of the healthcare team. Must have analytical skills necessary to assess patient/family needs, prioritize care based on assessments and develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s mental or physical well-being.   Must maintain licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Pediatric experience preferred.  CPR Training, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider ( NRP) designation required and/or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
