Physical Therapist Internal Only

GENERAL SUMMARY: Reports to department leadership and is responsible for managing the needs of the patient in the physical therapy intervention by reviewing, revising, and implementing techniques or discharging physical therapy services as deemed appropriate. Directs the physical therapy assistant in carrying out assigned duties as it relates to plan of care. Documentation of the evaluation and intervention is consistent with the Guidelines for Physical Therapy Documentation (BOD 02-02-16-20). Participates in the education of physical therapy students. Practices according to the Code of Ethics of the APTA and complies with all the legal requirements regulating the practice of physical therapy. Assures continued competency of professional performance, knowledge and skill evidenced by professional development and maintaining current knowledge related to all aspects of practice. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Current state licensure as required by laws or regulations; Knowledge and experience in the administration of a variety of physical therapy assessment tools, treatment plans and equipment. Knowledge of physical therapy treatment and modalities. CPR certification. Demonstrated organizational, effective communication and interpersonal skills. Previous pediatric experience preferred. Proficient PC skills. Ability to meet on call requirements of department.
