GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The LCSW Clinical Social Worker (CAP) conducts evidence-supported psychotherapy of maltreated children and families. Reports to the Executive Director of CAP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Evaluates children for symptoms of trauma and its impact and determines treatment and other needs.

Conducts evaluation of parents and other adults to determine their capacity to care for children in a healthy way.

Assimilates and summarizes data generated from evaluation and writes a thorough report including findings and recommendations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
Current Virginia license as a License Clinical Social Worker (LSCW).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Approximately six to twelve months on-the-job experience preferred.

Knowledge of child development.
-
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
-
Experience in evaluation and treatment of child maltreatment population and their families.
-
Experience in implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families.
-
Ability to work with multidisciplinary approach.
-
Ability to work as a team player within a multidisciplinary approach.
-
Experience in working with investigative agencies and community resources.
-
Increased Security Clearance may be Required: Recurring FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, Child Protective Services registry search, and Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender.

Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
