GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Patient Registration Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and directing registration personnel, work flow, and functions to facilitate safe, accurate and efficient processes and practices. Ability to perform patient flow analysis, process improvement activities, problem solving and project management. Demonstrates excellence in leadership skills characterized by quality services and processes that enhance outcomes. Reports to the designated manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Renders exceptional customer service to parents, patients, visitors and co-workers.

Assists in the selection, training, orientation and competency validation of designated personnel.

Coordinates and compiles accurate meaningful reports and effectively communicates with multiple service areas.

Maintains quality databases and services for accurate patient billing and accounts receivable.

Participates in formal and informal staff education.
-
Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
None required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
High school graduate or equivalent.
-
Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
-
3 - 5 years of progressive practice setting experience with 1-year supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer insurance verification processes required.

Must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues.

Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct and assign work to subordinates, explain hospital and department policies and procedures, and communicate effectively with other professionals.
