Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Behavior Analyst  (BCBA) is actively involved in behavioral assessment, development of positive behavior support plans, staff training and consultation, data collection and analysis, caregiver training and support, and overall maintenance of behavioral assessment and treatment protocols in the Hospital. This role reports to the Manager of Acute Mental Health Services and Operations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, discharge planners, utilization reviewers, and mental health coaches.
  • Develops and implements behavioral assessment and treatment protocols.
  • Assesses data to formulate behavioral conceptualizations, to communicate these hypotheses with others, and to develop individualized positive behavior support plans.
  • Develops goals and interventions that adhere to regulatory guidelines.
  • Creates effective and efficient data collection systems and uses data to assess progress and guide ongoing treatment planning.
  • Provides training (modeling, coaching, and consultation) to direct care staff and caregivers regarding implementation of positive behavior support plans. 
  • Performs others tasks as assigned. 

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

Board Certified Behavior Analyst.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in psychology, education/special education, applied behavior analysis or related field.
  • Two years of post-certification behavioral analytic experience preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals of all ages with mental illness and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must display strong interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills, professionalism, and maturity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS


Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
