Summary

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The IS Program Manager is responsible for providing oversight to various levels of information technology projects throughout the health system through the effective use of project management methodology. The program manager is expected to independently carry out assigned responsibilities but seeks guidance from the director and/or upper management given unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation of policy/practice or allocation of funds to resolve. Reports to department leadership.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Works collaboratively with department management and/or representatives as well as vendors to ensure projects meet business needs and are aligned with established goals and objectives. 
    • Effectively and accurately plans, organizes, coordinates, and documents system development processes for assigned projects. 
    • Ensures the timely communication of project status and identifies application, process and quality improvement opportunities. 
    • Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures. 
    • Provides effective and timely communication of project information to pertinent staff across the organization.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • None required
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary. 
    • Three to five years healthcare information systems management experience preferred.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and presentation skills required. 
    • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills necessary. 
    • Must be highly self-motivated and flexible while able to accept direction with the completion of tasks.
    • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks as well as the ability to meet deadlines required.
    • Strong project management skills necessary.  
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with exception of visits to the computer room.
